New desktop design launched today

Today we are thrilled to launch our new desktop design which we hope better reflects how you will use the yagmap service on your desktop or laptop computer making better use of the larger screen estate available.

We've based the design on a dashboard principle allowing you to respond to messages or start conversations, whilst at all times seeing your message feed, from one screen without needing to wait for the browser to load new pages each time you interact with a conversation or message.

This is achieved using a three column display with:

  • the leftmost column showing all your groups
  • the rightmost column your message feed which automatically updates
  • the middle column being the interactive area of the dashboard where the full conversations and replies are displayed, along with the option to respond or start new conversations.

We believe this better reflects how you would use yagmap in a business environment, particularly if you have a large number of groups set up and a busy message feed – it should save you a significant amount of time not having to wait for your browser to refresh all the time meaning you can get on with the job at hand.

In order to get the most out of the new site, you really need to be using a modern browser and we’ve developed it and tested it on IE9, Safari 5, Firefox 6 and Chrome 14. It will work on older versions of these browsers, even IE6 - although it won’t look as pretty!
